We are selling our
partially completed jungle estate in Belize. It is located
only six miles from the capital city of Belmopan, yet it is
private and secluded, beautifully situated within five acres
of cahune rainforest, fully fenced, your own private
reserve, with nearby access to the Belize River. Above is a
view of the structures, from the carport overlooking the
house foundation to the guesthouse beyond. As you can see,
we have made as small a footprint as possible so as to not
disturb the natural beauty of the
site.

It
is rare to find a spot that can have all the modern
amenities, electricity, water, telephone and DSL
internet, and yet also be so much a part of nature.
We searched all of Belize to find the ideal spot
for this home. We are retired field biologists and
wanted to combine creature comfort with a love of
nature and wildlife and the tropics.

This
spot is ideal with a large number of species of
birds and many mammals including howler monkeys
which stay high in the canopy feeding on the fig
and other jungle trees. We have built jungle trails
throughout the property and have kept all the
indigenous plants including many species of orchids
and bromeliads.

The property
has a fully completed, beautiful guesthouse with
many extras including AC. This is an ideal place
for you to live in while you complete construction
on the house, as it is very comfortable. Banana and
Papaya as well as haliconia have been planted in
the landscaped area around the carport and many
natural floral vines have been trained to climb the
hillside behind that guesthouse.

From large "L"
shaped the fully screened verandah of the guest
house you can watch for howler monkeys which are
often seen high up yet close to the
clearing.
Or you can
birdwatch for some of the many birds that come to
the custom stone birdbath nearby.

Many extras
include a tile bath, and custom kitchenette both
with mahogany cabinets and marble tops. Doors are
also custom mahogany.

Upon completion
of the main house, this guesthouse would make an
ideal rental to use for a B&B business, because
of the ideal location near many attractions in the
Cayo District such as the Barton Creek caving area,
several Maya ruins, butterfly farms and many parks
and hiking trails.

The completed
carport has room for three vehicles. It has a large
storage room/shop running along the back as well as
a tile bathroom complete with shower. We are
including most of our power tools in the sale
including a tile saw and a radial arm saw. Also
included in the carport - a washer and gas dryer. A
camper trailer is also in the carport and is
included with the house. It is fully self contained
and can be used to house a worker.

The foundation
of the main is house complete and all the conduit
and plumbing set up, but is not so far along that
it cannot be changed to fit your needs. We will
supply you with a full set of plans. Care was taken
to form it on concrete pilings so as to leave a
small footprint.
There is even
an 8000 gallon cistern in place and completed to be
alternative water source, a handy thing to have
when you have a pool.

Much of the
equipment for the main house, such as sinks and
security bars, are already on site and included in
the sale. Security bars are custom designed in an
art-deco pattern and match the two gates (on each
end of the "U" shaped drive). Hardware and
electronics for automatic gate opener is
included.
All of the
wiring and phone lines are underground, including
CAT5 cable for DSL internet.
There are far
too many extras to list here. The nature trails
alone make this one of the most beautiful private
homes in Belize.

The
plans call for a beautiful two story house with a great room
and large veranda looking out over a deck, lap pool and pond
going into the rain forest. Since much of the equipment to
finish the house is at hand expenses can be kept at a
minimum. We even have a builder's estimate for around $100
thousand for completion of the house. In the above site
plan, the carport is in the upper right, with the main house
in the middle and the guesthouse below. Floor plans can be
