The
big packing ordeal.... Quite a job!
Fortunately, we had some professional
help or we never would have made it. We
ended up with 8300 pounds of packed
belongings crammed very artfully into
an 8x8x25 foot area of our 40 foot
container. In Anchorage a wall was
built and Susan's Jeep added to the
front of the container and then it went
to sea to hopefully reach Belize in
early November.
And
We're off!
We
left the Kenai on Sunday, September
15th after a fond farewell to all our
friends, Alaskan family, and our home
on Patrick Drive.
|
Time
in Alaska? For Boyd it was 42 years and for Susan
34 years. Lots of memories!
|

|
A
last
look at some of our favorite spots, Tern
Lake on the Kenai and the Matanuska
Glacier.

Clowning
around with self portraits at the Mat
river and Mat Glacier.

Crossing
the Nenana River and then a quick run
for the boarder into Canada. The
Canadian wildlife is very much like our
Alaskan wildlife, except that the moose
have VERY
bad breath!

and the space needle taken last
winter!)

We
hit Seattle on the morning of September
21st after a leisurely drive through the
side yard of our southern friend, the
Canadians.
We
immediately made ourselves comfortable in
our daughter and future son-in-law's yard.
Holly and Bryan let us move our camper
right into their
driveway!
|
|

|
Susan
worked on Holly's wedding dress for the
upcoming wedding to be held in December
in Belize.
While
in Seattle, we paid a visit to the
Pacific Science Center where Holly
works to see a reptile and amphibian
show that was currently going on. A
really super hands on
display!
|
|
And
so we bid a fond farewell to Seattle
and to Holly and Bryan, and we hit the
highway on September 28th.
