The rain forest of Belize in Cental America is a fantastic place for the nature lover to visit. We love to go there ourselves. We feel one of the best places to go for bird watching is the Cayo District. You can find out all about this beautiful area at the Belize Explorer web site.

The Moose Dung Gazette is an online e-zine edited by naturalist Tim Smith. It is literally filled to the brim each month with articles and links of interest to the nature lover and outdoors person, including upcoming workshops and trips. It is the voice of Jack Mountain Bushcraft, Tim Smith's wilderness crafts school in New Hampshire.

"Wildman" leads tours for the public and for school classes throughout the northeast, but he's best-known for having been arrested and handcuffed by undercover park rangers for eating a dandelion in Central Park.

Earthwatch Institute promotes sustainable conservation of our natural resources and cultural heritage by creating partnerships between scientists, educators, and the general public. Through their programs, you can participate in one to two week research trips with scientists to help promote these goals.

Our Mushroom loving friends in the Pacific Northwest will find The Puget Sound Mycological Society an interesting site. You can link off it to their newsletter and other related links.


The National Genetic Resources Program has a database called Farmacy Query. You can use it to find out the chemical composition of almost any vascular plant you can think of. This can be of great use to the botanist. It is a part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. You can also use the home page to link to other portions of their vast data base.The Agricultural Research Service also has a site that can give you advanced information on plant chemicals. They too have links on their page to other related sites.

BirdSource is a partnership between the National Audubon Society and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. It is a fantastic site for the birder. It is updated regularly and keeps track of important bird events such as the annual bird count. The Audubon site is great too!
